Carpe diem! Join the YRC on an unforgettable trip to Rome during this Jubilee Year. Together, we’ll walk the sacred paths of the Eternal City, take part in the SSPX pilgrimage as all districts unite and appreciate the beauty of our Catholic heritage.

It is a rare opportunity to deepen our faith, and connect with fellow young Catholics in a journey that will leave a lasting mark on our souls.

Travel Advice

  • Passports & visas: A visa is not required by British and EU passport holders, but please do check that your passport is not out of date. If you are holding a passport from a non-EU country let us know and we will check whether a visa is required. 
  • Travel insurance: We will not be making arrangements for your travel insurance on this trip.

Accommodation

Our package includes accommodation, where we’ll stay as a group in a charming, historic convent on the outskirts of Rome. 

Cuisine -what to expect!

Two meals a day are included in the cost 
Breakfast and Supper will be provided at the accommodation. 

Enjoy the opportunity to explore authentic Italian cuisine by choosing and buying your own lunch each day. 

Cost: £400 or €490

2 payment options: Full payment plan or Installment Payment plan 

Full Payment Plan:

  • Pay the full amount of £400 or €490 in a single transaction, once your application has been accepted. 
    • Available from 30th November 2024 to 31st January 2025.
    • Please note: Your place on the trip will only be secured after the payment has been received.

Installment Plan:

  • Spread the cost over three months with our installment plan:
    • 1st Month: £100 / €150
    • 2nd Month: £150 / €170
    • 3rd Month: £150 / €170
  • Available from 30th November 2024 to 31st March 2025.
  • Please note: Your place on the trip will only be secured after the first installment has been received. 

Other things to consider:

  • Please allow 7 working days for payment to be processed.
  • The price covers: Chaplain expenses, accommodation, breakfast and supper, transportation in Rome on the trip, and activities.
  • If payment is not received by the specified deadline(s), your reservation will be cancelled, and your place will be offered to individuals on the waiting list.

Safety

  • No leaving your bags unattended. 
  • Keep your phone on you for staying in touch with the rest of the group.
  • Consider bringing a good battery pack.
  • Don’t bring expensive jewellery.
  • Keep your passport on you at all times.
Foreign travel advice - Italy

Check List

  • Rome in August will be experiencing strong sun and temperatures ranging from mid 25ºC to mid 30ºC, so pack accordingly and don’t underestimate the summer sun! 
  • Suncream (preferably with a high factor).
  • Sunhat.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Water bottle (water is expensive to buy).
  • Rucksack.
  • Light, loose clothes (preferably with more material that will protect you from sunburn).
  • Suitable clothes and head coverings for churches.
  • Comfortable sturdy shoes for walking (well broken in).
  • Euros is the currency in Italy.
  • Missal, rosary and head coverings. 

Medical & Health Considerations

  • We strongly recommend that all non-EU citizens apply for a European Health Insurance Card through the NHS website prior to the trip.
  • Each participant is responsible for managing their own health needs during the trip. If you have any medical conditions that the organizers should be aware of, please indicate these on the online sign-up form. However, it is essential that you bring all necessary medications and supplies with you, such as inhalers or EpiPens.

Dress Code

  • We kindly remind all participants that, as representatives of SSPX, it is important to dress appropriately.
  • Please be aware that many churches in Rome have specific dress codes that must be followed. Men, in particular, should be mindful of these requirements to avoid any issues. For more detailed information, please refer to the dress code guidelines available on the below website.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations on or before 31st January 2025: A full refund will be issued upon receipt of your bank details.
  • Cancellations between 1st February 2025 and 31st March 2025: A partial refund will be provided upon receipt of your bank details. Please note that the deposit of £100/€150 is non-refundable.
  • Cancellations on or after 1st April 2025: No refunds will be issued.
